Feline panleukopenia, cat flu, leukemia, rabies: which vaccines does your cat need, at what age and how often?
The essential vaccines
All cats, even indoor ones, should be vaccinated against feline panleukopenia (feline distemper) and cat flu. These viruses can be brought home on your shoes.
The typical schedule
- 8 weeks: first panleukopenia and cat flu injection
- 12 weeks: booster + leukemia if the cat goes outdoors
- Every year: annual booster
In Tunisia, rabies vaccination is mandatory for travel and strongly recommended for cats with outdoor access.
